CHIPS Physics Team, "Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust", Places 3rd in the 27th Annual American Society of Civil Engineering Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition
On May 1st, the American Society of Civil Engineering, held its 27th annual Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition LIVE on YouTUBE. The Annual Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition (PSBC) is an event for high school students that is hosted by ASCE's Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Bernardino/Riverside Younger Member Forums. The competition is a great opportunity to emphasize the benefits of pursuing higher education and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while promoting the engineering profession in our community. This year, there were over 25 teams who entered the competition. CHIPS, under the leadership of Bio/Physics teacher, Mrs. Costo, entered the competition with three teams. The competition was stiff! Thus, Team "Faith, Trust and Pixie Dust" had the third place overall winning bridge! Congrats to Mekides Danna, Edgar Diaz, and Maleah Rowe (Grade 11) and, of course, Mrs. Costo!
